Like the title says, I saw a copy of carelink professional at a CDE office and it looked much better than carelink personal which we get with the 640g. To get any sort of useful analysis I have to pull out the pen and paper. What software do you guys use with medtronics 640g?

Could you copy the data you are interested in into an Excel spreadsheet and then analyse it? I copy my BG readings from my meter, a Glucomen, into Excel and can analyse and graph more or less as I want to.

I'm actually after better software than what is supplied by medtronic of any exists, like I was saying in the post, I saw the professional version of carelink and it looks far better. I may ask the CDE if I can 'obtain' a copy theirs just to see how good it actually is. Of course I don't think any software will ever be as good as raw mathematics and and human analysis, however it can be a great tool to aid analysis.

I use carelink personal and I find it really useful. Do you own the USB stick? Message me back if you want me to tell you how to use it properly.

There is a way of getting it. Hop over to the "Medtronic 640G, 630G, 670G Insulin Pump System support group, ideas & tips" group on facebook and someone can give you a hand.

@Genie I got an e-mail from Medtronic telling me of an upgrade to their Carelink reports.

I uploaded my pump and am at the moment looking at a page titled Episode Summary, which has "For Health Professionals Only" written across it. This may be the kind of thing you're looking for. (Eg 40% of my hypos were preceded by hypers)

I haven't had time to examine my reports but it certainly looks quite interesting!

@dancer I too just today got that email. Carelink Personal now has much of the additional functionality of Professional. I see what you mean about the 'professional' watermark on it now. My CDE was always telling me how 'incredible' I was and I wondered why. I would spend 24 hours extracting data from carelink and compiling it with paper and pen to come to changes in my basal or bolus wizard variables like sensitivity and carb factors and the CDE would come back to me after an upload and make the same decision in minutes, little did I know the software was telling her what to change! Some of it is very time saving though with its suggestions.
