Yeah, one evening many years ago, I discovered at about 10pm that I'd left a gas ring on, having had dinner at about 6pm, this scared me somewhat, and it has stuck in my head and now the thought that I've left something on forever bugs me - and I'm forever doubting things like that now - I'm also borderline aspergers which may have exacerbated the issue somewhat. Thanks for the comprehensive info, I too would love to have bacon and eggs for breakfast, unlike you I only have time issues and not cooker issues(theres got to be SOME story behind that!?)
No lows yesterday, dinner at just after 7pm (had docs apt at 5:50 and she was running late), dinner was a GF breaded chicken fillet (from M&S) - 20 carbs, rice (40 carbs), and some homemade garlic butter sauce (butter + garlic + microwaveYou said you'd try and keep a record of food, hows that going? Did you have DP this morning? if so what was last nights 'tea'? Any lows/hypos yesterday?
I was hungry at the time, I was more focused on what I could eat rather than my DO WHILE loopYour coding is wrong, there's no meaningful action in the do statement that allows the program to drop out the loop...........

And yes at about 3-4am this morning when my BS level was about 4-5 it started going upwards, it went up to about 12 by 6:15 when my alarm rudely awoke me - so I took my breakfast insulin + small correction and went and hid under the duvet for another 20 mins before breakfast.
BG just before dinner 10, can't remember how much bolus I took (my memory is dubious at best) but it was immediately before dinner, at 8pm it was 11-12 , by 10pm it had started dropping and was at 8, by 11 it had dropped to 5 and then it levelled out til about 3am or so.What was your BG just before dinner, and assume you did 14u bolus, all at once just before dinner? Did you do any other BG tests after that? (or what did the Libre say)
Obviously I am an idiot but my reaction to this is that I would not eat 70g of carbs in 2 days let alone all in one meal, are you sure that you are seeing some sort of complex phenomenon, or are you just eating loads of carbs which makes it totally easy to make mistakes?
I found it too awkward, mainly cos you cant seem to add notes for specific times unless there is a scan at the exact time - which sometime there just isn't eg. do a check whilst waiting for food at a pub, which can take a while to turn up on a Friday lunchtime, unless I scan again there's nothing to log it against, and believe me if I've been waiting 30 mins for food I'm not thinking about rescanningThe number of units for dinner is pretty key, you don't log carbs and insulin on the Libre?
I have always been a very very picky eater and there is a lot of stuff I can't tolerate, so this limits my options somewhat (and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon - though whenever I see my parents they still try, normally unsuccesfully)Rice can affect BG for a very long time after.............would it be possible to try a low carb dinner? Or anything that avoids rice, potatoes, pasta and the like?

Not an idiot at all but the low carb solution works for some but not all T1s. It isn't so long since the dieticians were recommending highish carb low fat and quite a few T1s make that work (I managed two low HbA1C pregnancies doing this because that was what the dieticians of the day advised). The ultra low carb is more of a T2 thing, but it's very popular here just because 90% of the members are T2.
