A few days ago I received an email with diabetes something-or-other as a headline, wanting me to take part in research on using insulin patches. I have never taken insulin apart from when it was injected while in hospital for something quite different, without discussion or permission. Of course I didn't click on the email details.
Has anyone else had the same email? The only places they could have found my address are here or the NHS.

Seems quite random if it was me I’d press the delete button

Same here.

Not on insulin, so suspected it might be dodgy.

So just ignored it.

Maybe @admins could investigate
@Goonergal @Rachox @Jaylee ?

Was it in the monthly newsletter this site sends out to forum members? If so then it is informative rather than purse opening. The Forum does vet / approve and support research projects.

I got something like that a few days ago too - I suspected it was a scam as I am not on insulin so I just ignored it

If this hasn't come from the diabetes forum and it wasn't spam, it could possibly be to do with Palantir and the NHS. Palantir is a 'spy-tech' (description from Foxglove) company that tried to take the NHS to court recently for not awarding tham a data contract - so it was awarded the contract. Palantir is very keen on getting its hands on NHS patient data, so it can utilise it by selling it to private healthcare companies, among other things. For more info, please look up Palantir & the NHS.

Hi @Outlier, sorry for not getting to this sooner. The email is genuine and came from us at DCUK. Apologies for any confusion caused.

Kind regards,
Carson
