Is This Guy Type One Or Type Two?

Type of diabetes
Type 1
So I have a friend who upon finding out I have diabetes told me his dad had diabetes. I later asked him which type his dad had, he didn't know so I asked him to give me some clues. What he said was "he can't eat carbs, he eats a lot of protein bars" (yes I know protein bars have carbs)

So does anyone hav any idea which type my friends dad has.
 
Hi. It impossible to say what type your friend's Dad is without more information and tests by the GP. If he has T1 then he would be needing insulin. He would also probably be fairly slim as his body would be burning fat unless he had a lot of medication.

It's impossible to say for sure but it sounds like Type 2 to me as he avoids carbs and his son has been told he'll probably get it too.

Statistically it's more likely to be Type 2 too.

Perhaps your friend could ask his dad?

Thank you, I just moved schools so it might be hard to see him to ask him to ask his dad.

Then my guess still stands as Type 2. Im sure you'll find out sometime : )
