Is this normal for a type 2 diabetes

Do you mean when you wake up? Nothing abnormal there or do you mean throughout the morning?

Needing to wee quite often could also be a sign of a urine infection which is much more common in people with diabetes. You don't necesarily have to have many obvious symptoms but frequency is one of them. Is your urine smelly or dark or cloudy or does it hurt to go? As I said you may not have any of those symptoms but what you could do is test your blood in the morning to see what your sugar levels are and if they are high then this could be the reason, or take a look at your urine and see if it's dark, cloudy or smelly, if so, a visit to your doctor for antibiotics will clear up the infection.
