Type 1 Is Type 1 Autoimmune?

I am a 26 years old male and I was diagnosed with Grave's disease, teeth bone resorption and type 1 diabetes 2 and a half years ago.
Before with 3 months of my diagnosis and my symptoms to appear I developed genital candidiasis for which I was prescribed just a cream which did help a little but it went away just after I started to treat my diabetes. Recently I noticed that my tongue was whitish, not bothering in any way but my GP prescribed me some syrup which didn't help at all.

Reading about it I understand that complications of the fungal candidosis can happen if it gets into the blood stream and can attack some organs. What I heard till now was that fungal infections are caused by high blood glucose levels, how about the other way around? Anyone knows if there was any research about this? Could fungal infection attack the pancreas/beta cells and this causes the body to attack them? The yeast trying to make itself a higher level of glucose in it's environment and from other reasons or just bad luck gets to other organs and causes "apparent" autoimmune diseases..

If this is the case, a medication to help whit the elimination of the yeast might reverse the conditions..
Any one knows something about this subject? Or someone whit symptoms which might indicate the same thing?

Thank you :)

@Elvin7 Yes, Type 1 is auto immune. I understand your theory, but I think it's the other way round - high sugar levlels causing candida.

The cause of Type 1 isn't known yet. There are a number of theories. My preferred one involves the gut, but there are others, including early introduction of cows milk and/or wheat, a virus, etc

I understand that high BS can cause candida, but in most of the cases it appears from other reasons and I am talking about the few cases where it enters the blood stream and attacks organs.

I know what you meant :)

Although one of the theories about the cause of Type 1 is to do with a leaky gut, candida has not been implicated in the auto immune attack as far as I know.

Hi. T1 is normally caused by an auto-immune reaction but there are a few other things that can cause islet cell destruction such as pancreatitis, viruses etc. Personally I think it unlikely that candida can cause islet cell destruction but that's merely a guess.
