Issue with Libre - blank screen

My son continues to have the issue. It does beg the question what kind of safety checks were done before the app was released .

As it’s also presumably recommended by the NHS (in NICE guidelines) it might come under the NHS DCB 0129 standards. Might be worth complaining to NHS England too and asking whether it adheres to this standard, what the clinical risk management plan was and did the company have one for the most recent app release.

I tried the above today and it works!! Whoohoo!!!

I’ve seen a picture today on an old post of an Apple Watch on Lock Screen with time & readings shown through shuggah so must be possible (forgot to take a picture & can’t find it again)

Just had another email from Abbott, and it seems they have updated the app even more! The updated one I downloaded on Sunday is 2.10.0.7647 while the most recent one is 2.10.1 After all my problems getting the 2.10.0.7647 one to work, and to keep Shuggah working as well, I am not going to update to 2.10.1 until I activate a new sensor in just under two weeks time! It seems the app is back available in the App Store without having to go to your own purchases and is labelled, FreeStyle LibreLink-GB, it is not top of the list that appears when you search for it. I guess that Abbott think the issue is now completely solved. Personally, I am not entirely happy with the way Abbott has handled all of this.

As you will probably have seen from earlier posts from me, after a lot of effort I did eventually get both the Libre and Shuggah apps to work perfectly alongside each other. So, at the moment, I am very happy. Shuggah is indeed sending readings every five minutes (an interval I have chosen) to my Garmin smart watch. Libre is also sending alarms to my watch! If only Abbott could make the Libre app send data readings at an interval we choose as notifications to both our phones and watches that would be brilliant and then we wouldn’t need any other app. I can’t speak for anyone else, but having data readings sent to my watch is a massive bonus when driving. While I currently have everything working for me it is a case of: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

i think there is a way to have your current bloods constantly on your garmin watch face... how i am not sure i cant seem to work it out... but hopefully someone with more tech knowledge can work it out. I think would be much more beneficial than the 5 min updates etc.

In the Shuggah app, if you tap on settings, bottom right, you will see one setting labelled, ‘notification interval’. If you tap on this, you can type in an interval, in minutes, of your choosing. While this will not show constantly on the watch, it will come up at the interval you have selected. Personally, more often than every five minutes I find a little bit irritating. I don’t think there’s anything you can do in the settings of the Garmin watch itself, other than how the data displays and in which modes.

Following the Abbott e-mail at midday today, I replaced the version I had (2.10.0.7647) with the latest version on the App Store (2.10.1.7653).

Now the “No need to scan” function no longer works!

I re-programmed the alarm limits (5.0 lower; 9.0 upper) and made sure I saved them. They are correctly listed under the alarm tab.
However the alarm dotted lines do not appear on the daily graph and they do not work at all!
I just dropped to 3.4 while walking the dog despite starting the walk at 6.9 without the alarm sounding.

Just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues…?

I’ m just waiting for my call to Abbott to be answered …..

All the best

yup ive got this.
i change between 1 mins 4 mins and 5 mins as it also flashes up on my phone and can become quite a distraction

If you go to the garmin store there is a selection of watch faces you can download.
If you type in cgm there are a few including a nightscout one.

Ive downloaded them all but i cant get it to feed. There are some url type areas i think you need to edit in the setting

i found this website on friday https://medium.com/trit1dtech/how-to-view-cgm-data-on-a-garmin-watch-or-bike-computer-6846b06801e2

but it stumped me

Hi, since the update has everyone else lost the time in range percentage for the rolling 24hrs period which used to show on the Home Screen?

Just spoke to Abbott - they confirmed that the latest version of the app does NOT now include the “no need to scan” feature.
You now have to use the symbol on top right of Home Screen (like a WiFi symbol on its side!)
I have also lost the % in range on the Home Screen.

This seems to vindicate what I’ve said in my post at 1:31pm about not daring to download this very latest update to the app. Both Libre and Shuggah continue to work fine for me, so definitely a case of: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” You could try deleting the app again and reinstalling it. I can’t be sure that does the trick, but yesterday I deleted and reinstalled it about three times and eventually it worked!

DVLA purposes will you all be scanning before driving or do will you be trusting the readout. i feel to be safe makes sense to do a scan as they may say there is no proof you checked your read out etc.

That sounds sensible, although I have never heard of anyone being stopped by the police or anyone else and having their readings checked. If I get an alarm while driving, I’ll pull over (not on motorway, leave at the next junction or services) and do a scan after making sure I’ve turned my engine off! This is why I’m so happy that now I have Shuggah I get readings on my smart watch that I can easily and safely check while driving and respond to accordingly.

So the whole original point of the update has now been lost? Again, vindicates my decision to stay with yesterday’s update and not download today’s!

This is getting even more confusing, if that’s possible! Has anyone else who has downloaded the most recent Libre app today now found that they can only get readings if they scan, like AsepticSid? I thought the whole point of the upgrade was to get rid of the need to scan and have automatic readings updated every minute? I’m still using yesterday’s download of the app and it is still working fine (although no longer showing the percentage in target on the home screen) without the need to scan. Abbott come out of all this very badly in my opinion. They are currently portraying the issue on their website and in their emails to us as being solved. What people are saying on here does not seem to confirm that. If the upgraded app is now not providing the central purpose for it being done in the first place, not needing to scan, then we have all been put through a nightmare situation for no benefit.

People mentioning TIR for last 24 hours been lost. Unfortunately that is not a feature on CGMs. It was what I missed when wearing a Libre 3 for the trial. Though in fairness it helps to make you feel a little less obsessed.
@AsepticSid to get the dotted lines go into settings. These are target settings and different to your alarm settings.
