Issues with Clinical Guidelines for Treatment of TYPE 1 Diabetes

I thought you might want to see the evidence. I'm pretty sure it is buried in the Freestyle libre topic somewhere. Unfortunately there are 100s of pages of that that makes it a little difficult. I did this afternoon eat 3 Kipling Viennese whirls, 3 country slices and half a manor house fruit cake to provide something similar to the Krispy Kreme example and came up with the following trace (purely in the name of science ). The food was eaten at roughly 4pm on the scale and with appropriate insulin (Novorapid). You can see the trace from 16.00 to current time (roughly 18.30) and there are no huge spikes.

I don't disagree that low GI is a good thing. I find that many items that are described as low GI have a side effect glucagon effect as a result of the missing Amylin, so I think that low carb is better.

But clearly not essential!

Oooh I would love to be an experiment with those foods tim2000s.

Perhaps on behalf of science we all ought to do this vienese whirl, country slice experiment?

Get a date arranged and time of eating... We can all stuff ourselves and all report our findings!!!

Love it...I'll be the bystander as can't tolerate those foods with my stomach.. Perhaps I could tirn to referreee after when we all beat each other up with ohr results and findings??
