Itching and bloating with Metformin

HI all,

I am newly diagnosed diabetic coeliac with an underactive thyroid and started on Metformin two weeks ago - I was on Glizacide previously for six weeks - but in the last week I have noticed that I am as bloated as I was before being diagnosed as coeliac (I haven't had any wheat for six weeks now) and I itch terribly. Skin isn't dry, I haven't changed soap powders or anything else like that, and my diet is healthier than it ever has been so I think it must be down to the Metformin. Also has anyone had experiences with Metformin impacting on their thyroxine meds?

Metformin doesn't usually cause non-coeliac diabetics these sort of problems, but everyone is different and I can't comment on use with thyroxine. I hope someone else can help.
