You can develop an allergy to a product you have been using happily for years. Sensitivity to a shampoo might cause itching between the fingers. Regular moisturising with e.g. aqueous cream and wearing hypoallergenic gloves when applying shampoo might be worth a trial. It can take 2-3 months of regular moisturising for the skin to recover.

He's really messed up on diagnosis with my toes he doesn't know what it is and now this, both have been going on since February.

I have two type of eczema in my legs for many years. One is lighter eczema but spreads over my whole legs. The other is heavy developed eczema with deep cuts but only on small regions. After 3 days use Foderma eczema serum, here is the results: The light eczema is about 90% gone, the skin is healing. That is amazing! The heavy developed eczema become worse after one day treatment, i have to stop and switch back to my specialize medicine for eczema patient. What a pity. After all, I strongly recommend you to try this product. It is not expensive.
 
I have the same thing and I made a post a few weeks ago, and someone pointed me in the right direction. It's a form of eczema called dyshidrosis. You've developed a skin allergy and yes it will be with you for life. First time I got it, it came after a burn so I thought it was a slow-healing thing and related it to possible diabetes. I am pre-diabetic, but I am sure it's dyshidrosis. I get a different form on my feet. There are over-the-counter moisturizers and creams (Neosporin makes them) and prescription remedies in the U.S.

It's an allergy so it will likely happen at the same time every year, and can be triggered by dust, alcohol consumption, dry heat, cleaning products and latex, among other things.
 
If you have problem skin like eczema then Foderma serum is a must. No harsh smells. Gentle. Repairative. No babies in this household. This is used by one teenager and she loves it. If she is happy, I am happy. Or something like that.
 
I've suffered from something like what is described I've used different creams including a menthol and a water based cream germoline and other types of potions
 
my brother in law had dreadful to look at feet which often were painful. they were often lotioned and it did no good at all. The cure was alternate applications of Vick - the menthol vapour stuff, and coconut oil, one on one morning and the other the next. Although I never saw it myself the description sounds similar - and neither stuff is likely to do damage if it does no good, so it might be worth trying just to see.

I will go to the pharmacist soon, It is annoying to have a GP like him, he thought all my diabetic symptoms were down to low Vitamin B12, it only when I googled them I found out about Diabetes and forced him to test me for it, he did do the b12 for his own satisfaction too and I was positive for diabetes and b12 was fine.
Is betnovate available over the counter?
I know the difference between dryness and an allergy/infection and I was trying to explain to him that I dont think it is dryness as I am using a lot of moisturising creams but he would not listen to it.
Everyone finds there DN's not good but when I meet her I find her much better than my GP, I will go to the pharmacist and see if he/she can give me something over the counter otherwise I am off to the GP again.

I've had years of this frustration.....it was diagnosed as a form of pomphlyx excema .....nice to know but no help, as nothing worked except an antihistamine every couple of days....doesn't work immediately, unfortunately so I have to remember to take one every few days. Keeping hands and feet colder helps a bit, but no creams ever worked. They even tried steroids but they didn't work. Good luck !
 
If it is a rash between the fingers, it could well be a variety of eczema as the folk above had said. First treatment is a moisturising cream, preferabley without lanolin that itself causes allergic rashes. After that fails, a weak steroid cream often does the trick and weak hydrocortisone cream is available over the counter (but as a diabetic person, you should get it on prescription for free). Beware moisturising creams with lanolin making rashes worse.
If it was between the toes, one would consider athlete's foot.
Various tablets cause rashes, but these are generally all over (can be in one area only) and generally a red like measles.
My partner hates the smell of steroid creams, so we use Boot's sting relief cream which is in fact very very mild hydrocortisone, and it works.
A small amount of a strong steroid cream is probably not going to raise one's blood glucose levels.

Don't Pani but this is just my experience for what its worth. Several years ago I started to get itchy in my toes and no matter how much I tried to.scratch them I couldn't relieve the itching.The doctor just gave me antifungal cream which was useless. Turned out that thiswas the start of my Nerves dying off but my G.P. just said It wasn't described like that in the text books!!My specialist knew exactly what I was talking about. Now after a severe foot ulcer later and a stay in hospital with blood poisoning I have Chronic Peripheral Neuropathy and The DVLA have took my driving licence off me!! and my G.P is now reluctant to help me get it back!
