Bit low this morning. I know it's not much in the great scheme of things, but I want to get rid of the half stone or so I've put on in recent month.
I've dropped the carbs level and increased the fat but nothing is happening and it's demoralising.
I still eat some carbs ( doesn't affect levels) but only little. I dunno, just feel..you know:(

Don't loose heart .. how many carbs are you eating now .. ?

I do drink it occasionally Kelly!
Thanks Enclave, I appreciate the support. I must be honest, I don't count carbs now, I haven't for a couple of years as there has been no need. I lost lots of weight and BG levels were always good. I know that age affects weight loss, menopause slows things down too. I think maybe exercise might be a factor somehow, I'm not able to walk very much at present due to fatigue and pain:(.

Not sure what to do.

Maybe there is a need now...? I read somewhere that the negative effects of carbs are cumulative, so even for people who can initially deal with them well, after some decades it becomes harder.

BTW, very well done for your weight and health improvement in the past!

I had blood tests done recently Zand, quite extensive ones and it's all good on that score.
Larissima, I don't know, maybe you're right. I did lose the weight pretty rapidly but I was extremely ill - I don't eat loads now but maybe it's too much. I've cut out potatoes completely, have half Lidl RP roll at lunch..
I really don't want to have to carb count:(. Sounds daft but I've been through a lot and worked hard to get well - I just want to live a normal life. But it is a good suggestion and I've got a plan lol. Increase my movement as much as I can tolerate and if weight is still the same next week, carb counting it is:D

@ladybird64

Have a look at the link below.
https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/why-cant-i-lose-weight-htlw-12/

It is an article by Jason Fung (of Intermittent fasting fame), and it backs up my experiences... well, actually it describes my life. Except that I have never been particularly high in Fructose intake.

It is this article, backed up by other reading, which makes me so irritated by the Complacent Calorie Brigade. You know the ones? The 'Anyone can lose weight if they cut their calories. I did it. So you can. You just aren't trying hard enough'.

Anyway, I hope you find the article as illuminating as I did.

Edited to remove derogatory remark.

Thanks for the link Brunneria, I've added it to favourites and will give it a good read through when I'm less hyped lol.

Much appreciated xx
