Re: Januvia stilaglipin

Hi. Overall Januvia is a good and relatively new drug. It does not cause hypos or affect weight. Headaches are one side effect and I had these for 2 weeks 18 months ago when starting Januvia. I've never had any stomach problems but we are all different. Januvia reduces blood sugar spikes. 50 mg is fairly unusual as the standard dose is 100mg but that is up to your consultant (see the leaflet). BTW if you continue to lose weight and are quite young and your blood sugar continues to rise then do go back to the doc and discuss other diabetes diagnosis possibilites. If you haven't already got a blood sugar meter then we would always suggest on the forum that you obtain one and if needed buy the strips online. This way you can find out which foods affect your sugar the most and in general we find high-GI carbs are the worst offender.
