Type of diabetes
Type 3c
Treatment type
Insulin
Curious to know if anybody other than type 2 on this drug? Was offered it by diabetic nurse team( not surgery based) to go with Toujeo and Fiasp insulins, but then I think they don’t understand type 3c. I have read a lot, mainly US research, on various SGLT-2 inhibitors, and how fears of ketoacidosis, are the reason that they are not offered to type 1s there (yes no mention other types diabetes), although many are prescribed ‘off script’. I was particularly interested as SGLT-2s are said to reduce insulin need by 25%, reduce weight ( a bit, not like Ozempic etc) and importantly to me ‘smooth the CGM curve’ in type 1s, and ketos are extremely rare ( largely women with insulin pumps). Any comments?
