Customer helplines that use recorded menus that promise to put me through to the right person but never do - and being ill. Oh, and did I mention customer helplines :)
Founder member of Deep Purple and keyboard player Jon Lord has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer and died aged 71.

There can be few people who have never played air guitar to Smoke On The Water, possibly the best known riff in rock history. A very sad loss to the world of music.

I remember the first chords I played on a lead guitar aged 14,was trying to play along to 'Smoke on the water',awesome song!!
 
A sad loss to the music world, not heard much about Jon since he left Whitesnake in the early 80's, have to agree that songs like Smoke on the Water by DP, Stairway to Heaven by Led and Freebird by Lynard were the songs that inspired me to pick up the guitar.
 
Very sad and such a horrid disease. Trouble is we've been fans of all these talented people since we were young so it's a timely reminder to take care of ourselves xx
