Juice plus helping diabetics

Well I am glad it is helping you. Do you test your own blood sugars? Have they gone down since you have been using juice plus?
I've lost 1 stone in just over three weeks and my sugar levels have dropped from around 10 to 12 now there consistent around 8 and improving

Brilliant. I would keep at it if it suits you, but bear in mind that you may need to lower carbs if your BG's don't continue to improve. Many of us here don't like to see our numbers rise above 7.8. So far so good though. Keep us informed.

Hi @leenic11
I'm really pleased that you have found a good way to help you with your diabetes, In the last few weeks.
You say you have suffered with bad sugar levels and had bad Hypoglycaemia episodes.
Have you kept a record of what you have eaten and your blood glucose levels.
Without doing that, you are not in control of your diabetes!

The sudden change to a more healthy but more fructose diet via the juice plus, is the result of you feeling better!

It is probably masking your carb filled diet previously, this will not help long term, it is a better , healthier way of eating but I predict that it will be short term.

I would love to eat a lot more fruit but from my experience having tested, tested, experimented, the juice plus would really make me ill!

Far too much sugar and too many carbs and that's without looking at the ingredients!

I do hope that you feeling better, is not a temporary thing.

Best wishes.

Did you find out why you went hypo?

Hi @leenic11

I note that you are a Type1 diabetic so I would think that you keep records?

Is your DSN happy with you using this product?

Congratulations on the weight loss.

I'm pleased that your blood glucose levels have dropped @leenic11 , and maybe the Juice Plus has helped. Presumably you have used it to replace other foods? So they must have been keeping your bg even more elevated.

But frankly, any product that kept my blood glucose as high as 8 would be an automatic refusal.

You are a type 1, and i understand that it is more about fine tuning insulin, than about diet. So maybe your health team can help you bring your bg down more.

"Fruit and vegetables provide your body with important phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals. Ideally they should be consumed every day. Your health will benefit, and you will feel more comfortable in your skin.

Experts recommend five servings of fruits and vegetables a day. To be honest, that is not always easy to achieve. Juice PLUS+ bridges the gap by supplementing your diet with the most important active ingredients in fruits and vegetables. Whole fruits and vegetables, fresh from the fields provide the basis."
Absolutely agree it's good to eat fruit and vegetables! so why should we take a pill? Why should it lead to weight loss or lower glucose levels

What worries me is talking about hypoglycaemia at levels of 10-12, that's hyperglycaemic not hypo.
If you are jumping from high to low then you should look into adjusting your insulin .If you know how to do it you should be able to eat the veg and some fruit as part of your diet.

Do you even know how many fruits a Diabetic is allowed to eat because so many contain sugars

I certainly know just how much fruit I can handle because I've tested to find out, and I think all sensible diabetics will be doing the same. I personally don't want to eat or drink anything without knowing the contents so that I can make an informed decision as to whether its going to be suitable for me or not. I want this both to be provided and to be easily accessible for all processed food that I include in my diet, and I believe that any queries asked here regarding the ingredients and nutritional values of this product also ought to be answered here on this thread. I believe this information is far more important than any number of testimonials.

Phoenix. Probably worth pointing out that the five-a-day is rumoured to have come from the California Fruit Growers Association to promote their production and the five was largely plucked from the sky like the 2 litres a day of water we hear about.

Two of the main benefits from eating real fruit and veges is the water and fibre content. Extracting the nutrients out of the food and discarding the water and fibre seems counterproductive to me.

That, and the fact that Juice Plus is a multi-level marketing scheme that has been widely critiqued, put me off using it. MLM schemes just line the pockets of those at the top of the pyramid and exploit everyone else involved.

Sounds like a huge con to me.

Hi. This is my first post; I did a search on google about "aloe vera helping control diabetes" and this website came up. I want to share my husband's experience; I understand everyone is different. I do not sell ANY Aloe Vera products but my husband, who is a type 2 Diabetic, had a terrible upset stomach for days and a friend gave him a small gallon of Aloe Vera Gel. I am so impressed with the results that I figured if I could help someone else maybe this post is worth it. Anyway, he took two ounces of the gel with 4 ounces of water (taste was NOT delicious) but here is what IS miraculous to ME. His stomach is now well AND his sugar levels have balanced out. He was taking 4 metformins, he is now down to 3 because his sugar levels in the morning usually were between 160-230, and since he started drinking this gel, his sugar levels in the morning are 109 to 112. THIS to me and him is miraculous. He stopped taking the gel once he drank the little gallon and within three days it spiked again. He is now taking it again and is back to 109-112. He can't wait to go the dr. to have his A1 levels checked again. Anyway, I may post or not again but wanted to put this out there. I AM IMPRESSED.

I'm really, genuinely pleased for your husband. Here is the write up to its possible benefits. http://www.diabetes.co.uk/natural-therapies/aloe-vera.html

The **** reference, was to Pyramid & multi level marketing. My friends invested allot of money buying products and attending powerhouse push product and praise member meetings. My friend 20st + tried the Aloe Vera slimming product, it made her feel ill. The sales tactics they we employing, especially when you are dealing with sick people on medication - supplements can interfere with prescription drugs, many can increase or decrease anticoagulant medication, for example. I personally, would not buy one of the Forever supplements, this angered my friend, which in turn angered me, that a friend would put her sales and profit above my health.

Don't get me wrong, I am all in favour of finding products that help with this nasty, miserable little condition. But, the manufacturer, has to be honest with its products content and quality of, if it isn't, there are other manufacturers that do declare accurate contents and awarded GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) in the USA.

He stopped taking the gel once he drank the little gallon . . . . .

It's not cheap either, I'm paying £20 a litre for the stuff with orange juice, sounds like a real con, but for me it makes a huge difference to aches and pains, not a cure, but makes a difference.
Can't say about BG because I've not noticed any changes. That's not to say there aren't any, just that I haven't noticed any, maybe I should test more frequently and at other times of the day.

That much sugar in it and someone is promoting it on a diabetic site .... are you people crazy?
