Welcome to the forum ! It would be hard to say why your side hurts but it sounds like it could be caused by many different things. Hopefully it will go away soon. Being diagnosed with diabetes is a shocker for everyone. This forum is full of information. Learn as much as you can about carbs, carb counting and insulin doses. Dealing with Type 1 gets easier with time. A positive attitude helps enormously.
