Just diagnosed & need some help please!

@JoKalsbeek oh and no I’m not on the steroids at the moment. I also don’t like the texture of milk so I have a tiny drop of skimmed in my tea, if having a rare cereal (like today) it’s skimmed milk also. I the idea of a coffee with full fat cream as don’t like it with milk, I remember doing that a few years ago when people where doing Atkins although I wasn’t doing the diet.

If you want pizza then google fat head dough.

It took me a couple of goes to get it right . It's very filling but you can keep a portion in a poly bag in the fridge.

Check the labels of everything in your cupboards. Learn all the different names for sugar.

@JoKalsbeek thanks fir the links. Haha no fat shaming taken! Along with the foods I’ve already mentioned, it’s an odd pizza or oven chips which I wont be having now! The fish is fresh ie the salmon, tuna, mackerel etc maybe once a fortnight a fish in breadcrumbs but again not any more. 2 rich tea biscuits sometimes. Going to try a grilled pork loin steak with salad I rarely eat them but giving it another shot as I just really don’t like meat in general. The taste thing means I often add things like piri piri sauce to my salmon before cooking it just so that I can taste it and have peppered mackerel, are they ok? I think I’m getting this now as years ago I did slimming world which was low carb but with the option of a potato or rice couple times a week as a ‘healthy extra.’ I eat strawberries, oranges, bananas. I am allergic to apples so not those. I do like a home made veg lasagne but probably only once in a few months because I’m not particularly big on pasta. Thanks for your kind offer of messaging, I don’t wish to be a pain though.

You might want to learn about keto baking... I've made keto pecan cookies a few times now and they are pretty good. And they freeze well. On a hot day I don't defrost them, still good. ;) https://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/chewy-keto-pecan-cookies-low-carb/ might replace the tea bisquits. (And you don't have to use *salted* butter, of course). Piri piri and pepper and such should be okay. Strawberries are fine, as are basically all other berries, though preferably taken with heavy or clotted cream, but oranges and especially banana's... You want to stay way from. A banana is about 24 grams of carbs, that's more than 10 sugar cubes. An orange is 17 grams... So stick with the berries. (Sorry). As for lasagna, you could use sliced courgette instead of pasta leaves.

As for skimmed milk, again, full fat is always better, if you want to use milk at all. There's milk sugars in there (lactose), and as it's a liquid it hits the system a bit quicker than a solid would. And in skimmed there's more than in full fat. Best would be some form of cream, if you want to use it. Nothing mandatory though. :)

@JoKalbeek Thank you so much for all the advice and explanations, I seem to have my BG under better control now 6-9. Wouldn’t have done this without you
