Just found out I'm pregnant what do I do next....

Hi all,
I've just found out I'm pregnant think I'm only about 5/6 weeks so early days yet... just wondering what will happen next I'm type 1 and been diabetic for 29 years,
I've been doctors and got a midwife appointment in the next two weeks, also they have sent a letter
To my consultant...
what's the next step? I'm testing my
Sugars all the time trying to keep them at there best.
Anything else I need to do?

Are you taking the special high dose folic acid? If not, get some asap.

You'll find your team really supportive. I suggest making a list of any questions you have ready for the appointment.

Also, watch out for random blood sugars and keep hypo treatments near even more than you normally would.

Just to add, I phoned my DSN as soon as I found outi was pregnant and was seen within days. If you haven't phoned them, you might want to do that even if a letter has been sent.
