Hi there ,a bit of encouragement , I to was told I was pre diabetic many months maybe years ago which meant nothing to me and given no advise as to what it meant , Then approximately a month ago after a blood test I was advised I diabetic,Hey guys, bit of context:
I'm 6 foot tall, 150lb (skinny) male. I work in constriction (8 hours cardio for 5 days a week) and eat a steady diet of oatmeal, beans, sweet potatoes with lots of coconut, olive oils and butter. My diet choices came from Gluten intolerance and wanting to avoid prediabetes (You get what you try to avoid am I right?)
So you can imagine my shock when recent blood tests (taken to determine what discomfort and pain in my legs when sitting, were cause by) apparently showed I have prediabetes.
I'm stunned and confused. Hopefully ya'll can help me manage this and if possible reverse it. Thanks
That is encouraging. I’m going. A bit crazy here as today I was also diagnosed with arthritis (I’m only 35!!). My body appears to be in rough shape, but with my dietary constrictions, I fear my issues will get worse, not better.Hi there ,a bit of encouragement , I to was told I was pre diabetic many months maybe years ago which meant nothing to me and given no advise as to what it meant , Then approximately a month ago after a blood test I was advised I diabetic,
which completely through me , as I knew nothing about it apart from the fact it had something to do with sugar.
I was advised by a friend to contact this site , where I bared all my ignorance, and found soo much help re a low carb diet , and question to ask at my first meeting with the nurse , which I full took to , and this week was told I was no longer diabetic, but back to pre diabetic, with a long way to go as still 42 , but determined to get down to one number,
and it’s all thanks to peoples help on here, so a big THANK YOU TO YOU ALL
Seeing that you've got so many issues around food, taking vitamins is a good step imo. That is encouraging. I’m going. A bit crazy here as today I was also diagnosed with arthritis (I’m only 35!!). Anyone ever see this? https://www.nps.org.au/news/can-vitamin-c-help-type-2-diabetes#:~:text=Ascorbic acid supplementation improves postprandial,a randomized cross-over trial.
I’m trying to find ways to fix all these issues from the root. I don’t want to manage arthritis pain, I want to heal my bones and joints, as an example.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/...ter-soluble,in severe morbidity and mortality. There are nine water-soluble vitamins: the B vitamins -- folate, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12 -- and vitamin C. Deficiency of any of these water-soluble vitamins results in a clinical syndrome that may result in severe morbidity and mortality.
I’ve thought of this and it was a lightbulb moment for me that maybe, just maybe, all these issues can be tied to my lack of vitamins due to my diet restrictions. I started taking 1000mg Vitamin C last night and began sweating profusely afterwards.Seeing that you've got so many issues around food, taking vitamins is a good step imo.
You should be ok with water soluble vitamins as any overdose will be flushed out of your system, overdosing on fat soluble ones could cause problems as they hang around your system if they're not used and could worsen some of your conditions with toxicity, so you'll need to stick to recommended doses of those. You could organise a blood test if you're worried about deficiency.

I eat plenty of protein, but I do take a multi vit B. Don't think it could do any harm if you take it, they're good for your nerves so they just might just help your anxieties.I’ve thought of this and it was a lightbulb moment for me that maybe, just maybe, all these issues can be tied to my lack of vitamins due to my diet restrictions. I’m not too worried about B vitamins as I eat a small piece of liver every two days. I don’t wanna overdose on the fat soluble as you say but should I get my b vitamins in suppliment form as well?
I’d rather cure my body than my anxietyI eat plenty of protein, but I do take a multi vit B. Don't think it could do any harm if you take it, they're good for your nerves so they just might just help your anxieties.
Not sure you can separate themI’d rather cure my body than my anxiety

Just read this, what the hell guys? This is dangerous! https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/basics/diabetic-ketoacidosis.html#:~:text=DKA develops when your body, dangerous levels in your body.
Nutritional ketosis is safe and decidedly healthy for type 2's and prediabetics. Ketoacidosis is potentially deadly, and would require a perfect storm of extremely high blood sugars, illness and likely, certain medication you're 100% certainly not on right now, for it to happen in a T2. For a T1 it's something they need to be weary of, yeah, because they don't need an unlikely perfect storm for things to go t*ts up.Just read this, what the hell guys?
