Hi all
I have be on here for ages.
Ok I’ve given in and I am on 1xmetformin a day and I’ve been on them for almost 2 weeks and I’ve noticed that I’m loosing weight and my blood pressure is down without changing much in my diet.
Blood count is apparently fine.

has anyone else had any effects like this from metformin?

It is known to sometimes have a supportive impact for weight loss:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23147210/

Don't know about the blood pressure aspect but weight loss has been found to support lowering of blood pressure so there is that aspect too

Had the same effect when I first started, was quite pleased but it doesn't last I'm afraid weight soon recovers

Quite soon, about a week before I noticed , didn't loose much a few pounds , certainly nothing to get excited about:(

I have been on Metformin and a low carb diet since my diagnosis 4 years ago. I have lost a shed load of weight and reduced my two BP meds down to half of one med and none of the second. As @Andydragon says I don’t know if the reduced BP is due to low carb per se or the weight loss.
