I do not seem to be able to stick to my diet!!!!
I do marvellously on carnivore diet: no hunger, morning glucose more than perfect, brilliant sleep, flat, happy content tummy.
I do very well on LCHF diet (carbs less than 20g).
But when I travel, the temptation and choices are my undoing.
I start with having milk in my coffee and tea. Then I will have cheese, then more vegetables and root vegetables, then a piece of fruit and before I know it, I am ravenously hungry and my judgement is totally impaired. And then waiter puts warm rolls in front of me. Or complementary sweet with a bill, and before I know it, my postprandial glucose is reading 15 mmol/L!
My stomach explodes in size, and basically reacts as if I just caught dysentery in the slums of Calcutta, and I end up fasting for 48 hours - when my morning glucose beginning to return to normal, and my craving subside.
Its predictable and frustrating, and I feel like any form of travel or socialising is a danger zone.
Thank you for letting me get that of my chest!
