Hi guys

I know there is a few "insanity" topics on here but I feel like sharing my story as we are all different and everyone has their own story to tell..

So here's mine from the beginning of diagnosis to now! :) I was diagnosed with type 1 in April 2012 I weighed 10st back then and I was put on insulin and I started eating low carb.. I exercised often but after my diagnosis I was very poorly so stopped working out as much and got a new job looking after children, now with the high units of insulin and stress the doctors said this is why some of my weight was creeping back on, a year after diagnosis I was 14st which is in my eyes really bad :(

So I started being stricter with my food intake and exercise I was working out twice a week and got really poorly again as the docs said I was doing too much with work and exercise I was working 5days a week at the nursery, exercising twice a week and the every Friday and Saturday night I was gigging with my band only had a Sunday as a rest day, Anyway since then I lost 2st then carried on with my busy schedule increased my exercise a bit and then I put 3st on out of no where!

So I got a bit emotional and embarrassed about it all putting weight on loosing it and yet again putting on so I've decided to do something about it now!! Even more intense!

SHAWN T'S INSANITY!!!

I'm day one in with the boyfriend and we have done the fit test! I started with levels of 13.3 I was a bit high after having a late lunch and a banana, any way we started the fit test got half way through before I started struggling then started having to rest then jump back into it towards the end of the fit test I couldn't keep up if was really struggling even the other half was and he goes to the gym once or twice a week if he can fit if in.. So I feel absolutely shattered after 40mins! I feel I've done well but I did find the first one VERY hard.. Levels afterwards are 6.2 so dropped a lot body is hurting a bit at the moment I'm sure I'll ache lots tomorrow! Lol but overall feeling good inside! :)

Sorry to rabbit on! Thanks you for reading my post and again I apologise for going on!

Many thanks again

All the best!

Well done Kerry, keep us updated with how things go

Good luck Kerry ! Insanity is certainly an intense cardio experience. I sometimes struggle to finish all the sets but that is the beauty of the workout, you can take a little breather and step right back in.

I am still doing a low carb diet at the moment but it's only day one and I'm working out what I need extra of and if I will be doing the 6days a week or cutting it down or not depending if it works well with my busy lifestyle ect.. But yes I am still low carbing.. I'm not as struck as others on the forum as I'm in a diet the dietician has discussed with me and I'm yet to Stijl go on the Dafne course.. :)

Hope that helps :)

Okay so after work today I thought I'd start the second disc, how wrong I was as to do this as my body was so sore.. I did 20mins of the second disc and couldn't go on, I had no energy I couldn't even move my body I just fell to the floor in a heap.. Levels were fine when I started had levels of 7.9 which is okay for me and after doing 20mins my levels dropped to 5.2

The other half has told me not to do anymore until I'm better.. I had the startings of a cold last night and it has only got worse today at work, so unfortunately I won't be doing it every night until I get a little better the other half has said he thinks I should rest, so I will for a day then I'll try again :)

Thanks again for reading my post :)

All the best to everyone! :)

Kerry make sure you take a good rest and get yourself better. When you're sick your body needs time to heal itself and exercising will only delay that process!! You'll be back in no time :-)
