Keto - calories too low?

I have a question: I'm T1 and have been eating keto style for 4 days now. BG is fantastic (I'm also closed looping) but I hit keto flu yesterday - checked ketones and they were around 1.4.

My question is whether it's totally keto flu that's making me feel rough, or am I just not taking in enough calories? Im trying to add butter and cream where I can, but I had a real problem with carb cravings before I started keto, so my intake must have plummeted.

Any thoughts on if this is likely to be the case? And if so, do I need to add more calories if possible? I'm hoping to lose weight, but my main driver is lowered BGs and just feeling better.

Give it a try eating more caklories, and see what improves. The weight will sort itself out, if you are anything like me.

Honestly, I've no idea, never have counted calories and probably wouldn't have the patience. I know it makes sense though ‍
I don’t think any of us can say if you are eating too few calories unless you can give us an idea how many you eat! Are you counting the carbs you eat? If you have gone to keto levels of carbs very quickly it could be keto flu.

Here is info that might help https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb... action may alleviate, within 15 to 30 minutes.

Good that you have a way of testing your ketones, and of course keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t go too high. If you continue to feel very rough despite drinking more Then I suggest talking to your DSN

How many calories are you eating?
I just worked out yesterday's intake, very roughly, and I had under 700 calories - no wonder I feel drained today!!

Yesterday was a bit of a one off, but I must pay more attention to what I'm eating, I'd lost a couple of kg but I'll go into starvation mode and shut down if that's my intake

Yes, 700 is not enough. Maybe think about an app to count calories and carbs? I use nutracheck.

I've never counted calories, only carbs. What's worked for me is carbs at 20g/day, leading to eating when I want to, and only when I want to. This isn't "hunger" the way I used to experience it. I find it very difficult to overeat now, no desire to.

In contrast I can go lengthy periods (24-48 hrs) without eating and without feeling hunger. I don't usually plan to, but it happens from time to time.
