Is a keto diet suitable for type 1 diabetics? Obviously insulin doses would have to be taken into consideration, but bit worried by the high levels of fat consumed. Any one else tried this?

Quite a few people. Dr Richard Bernstein for one
Dr B is dead against keto as he thinks the diet risks giving too little protein, especially for children. He advocates a very low carb diet (roughly 30g carbs daily with protein replacing the missing carbs and with whatever fat comes along with the protein). We know his latest thinking on this topic as he still conducts a Q&A session on Youtube towards the end of every month and it frequently comes up. Well worth a watch. https://www.youtube.com/c/DrRichardKBernstein

My take on "high fat" is that it's simply normal full fat rather than low/reduced/lite fat food. All you need to do is replace carbs with enough fat to fulfill your energy requirements - you don't have to stuff you face with it at all unless you choose to.
