It will get sorted, and you will manage whatever Type you are classified as.
What appalled me initially on reading your post is that people are just being sent home with levels from 17 upward (@ally56 as well for example). Why don't hospitals get you under 8.0 before sending home and actually do the type 1 or 2 test when in a&e. Can't be that hard surely to do a test?
I remember 30yrs+ ago and gp just did a wee test on me and was sent to hospital for 4 days for a type 1 to be sorted out....
Hoping that hospital consultant will sort you out and you start to feel better soon.
.I eat very little so the thought of having to eat because of insulin does not appeal
