Thanks @Energize but none of those are applicable to me. I don't take Metformin, and my B12, Vit D, iron, folate and ferritin levels were checked in December as part of my normal diabetic checks and were all bang in the middle of the range. All other markers also bang in the middle.

It's a mystery!

Sorry it's still a mystery for you, Bluetit, but I think maybe you are lucky you don't have to fight to get your GP to take notice of important results ;(
Hope you can find a cause, and get treatment before too long, eh?

Are you taking meds for any other reason? I have eyedrops and the taste they leave in my mouth is as if I have chewed an aspirin.
