Thanks Brunneria, will grab a Cupar and watch, much appreciated.Hi,
Have you come across any of the Ken Sikaris you tube vids on cholesterol?
He goes into this in some depth. I will try and find a link for you... I think they are well worth watching.
Ah yes, here you go:
I haven't had time to watch the talks but did he mention it's likely that your cholesterol isn't constant anyway but moves up and down during the day like blood sugar? So, to answer my own question, it is not ketosis that changes levels of cholesterol. The
LCHF diet itself causes (in most people) a rise in TC and (again in most people) weight loss/ketosis.
Levels of TC are as personal as the shade of lipstick you choose to wear, the mathematics in the use of measuring all the components of cholesterol arn't great. Watch Prof Sikari's space for more...
It can do, but more importantly, it's the Trigs that are hard to pin down. The mechanism for measuring isn't great because of this. He says that's why the HbA1c is a decent test for sugar because the cells hang around for three months unlike sdLDL and triglycerides.I haven't had time to watch the talks but did he mention it's likely that your cholesterol isn't constant anyway but moves up and down during the day like blood sugar?
