forget weight loss for now, if you low carb I defy you to not lose weight by accident
I would start by getting an app called myfitnesspal for smartphone or internet version
record everything you eat, its a pain in the butt but hey you wanna get better or not, once recorded you can look up what you are eating which has the single worse carb value, then cut that one thing out and replace it with something low carb, ok lets say this is chocolate, find something you like that isn't chocolate or at least 70% dark chocolate if you can tolerate it (first time I tried it I spat it out but now I live for it) just make sure what you replace that one thing with is lower than your next highest carborific food, and hey presto you are on the right track, now a day later look at it again and find the single highest carb food and do the same, it becomes like a challenge each day or so reducing the total amount of carbs until you eventually find that your 350g a day has become 150g and then the challenge is 100g and so on, try it your bgs will go down and your weight will come off this in itself will be enough of a motivation to try harder and do better, eventually you will plateaux with the weight then you can start looking at calories or whatever else but by then you will have lost say 2 or 3 stone and be on your way, the lower the better in my opinion.
is it going to be painless? lol be serious, its bloody awful but its a means to an end and the rewards are unbelievable,
you have it within you to heal yourself, you are amazing, now show the world what I already know to be the case
