Hi everyone! I just started drawing my comics about a cat with diabetes, thought maybe you would be interested. :) It’s my way of coping with it, also try to cheer others up. I hope you like it. :) I’m on instagram as onegiftedcat.

This is interesting & rather spooky... Art imitating life.

A few years ago, my old neighbours had this white fluffy cat. It used to walk into our house, pad about a bit. Maybe crash out on the futon.
This was long before we got a dog.
Oddly, it seemed keen when I took my insulin out the fridge.. Nope, I was certain it wasn't the food. Perform an "airshot" & it would silently mew..?
We were relatively new to the neighbourhood at the time & asking around about this mysterious cat. We were told by one resident, "don't feed it. It's on a special diet." Really? I enquired dooo go on. Turned out the cat was diabetic too!

Uncanny! :)

@elsalisa that's wonderful. Do you have a children's book in mind, because I'll bet you could sell that idea. The illustrations are so very cat-ly!

This is Maud.. Beautiful Bengal but Psychotic.. No longer with us sadly.. Loved her to bits,, She would sleep all over you but wouldn't allow you to get up. if you tried she would go ballistic and swear, hiss and do all sorts..

Such a beautiful cat! Our first cat died in 2017, a month before our daughter got her diagnosis. Zews was a wonderful pet, big ginger mainecoon, we still miss him a lot.

@elsalisa - I love them!!

And while you're thinking about more moggies for a possible book, how about making the drawings you have done already into diabetes related greetings cards, statiuonery, etc, to use as fundraisers for JDRF for example.

(I have done something similar with dog images - not all from my own images/artwork though - for a breed related health fund)
