Lack of muscle strength - what could I be doing wrong?

Fruit isn’t going to do much good. Irrespective of the measurable glucose load, the fructose content, which won’t directly raise blood glucose, will contribute directly to fatty liver and increased insulin resistance. Fruit is designed in nature to help us gain weight in the summer, so using it to lose weight is not a good idea.

Thanks - ok fruit out, nuts in now. worth try.

Many useful comments and a bit of research to do. From the advice so far it seems a good start may be ............

Cut out the fruit - again.
Eat more nuts
Increase portion size of fatty pork, chicken and eat more bacon.(I can't buy lamb or beef here).
Add even more cream and coconut milk to my curries.
Find a suitable supplement for old guys (64)

I may also have a go at lengthening my fasting time - typically I stop eating around 6 PM and break my fast as late as possible, usually around 11 AM, so 16 hour window most days with no food, just water and tea.

Thank you all who offered advice. Keep it coming,
