Massive congratulations on fantastic job with A1c and weight. Exercise bike was how I started nearly 5 years ago and yes LC and exercise showed fast - clothes falling off and fbg dropping like a lead balloon. Check with DN or Dr about the folate levels. However well meaning no one on here should offer individuals personal medical advice IMHO.Reading 07 Feb: 78

The lowest I ever was is 2013 when I read 41.
weight from 98.8kg to 94.5
However...
Serum folate now showing too high at 24.8ng/ml
(I had been taking a folic acid supplement and had moved onto a multivitamin alongside 1000mg vit C instead. Does this mean I need to stop taking my supplement or change to more specific supplements, if any?)
difference being 10mg Dapaflagozin additional medication and in the last month I have moved to less than 130g carb and started 30min minimum exercise on my exercise bike. Will low carb show that quickly?
Still on a lot of drugs, but this is a fantastic result, I’m really pleased and next direction is getting off these drugs hopefully
Yeah good point. I am sure the nurse will phone at some point to discuss. They are pretty proactive at my surgeryMassive congratulations on fantastic job with A1c and weight. You'll do it. At my peak I was 100 kgs now 73/74 ish and have been 74-75 for 3 years. I went from 96.4 kgs in June 2015 to 76 .6 in Nov 2016 with LC, exercise bike and walking dogs plus weights. I mostly detest LC but can see the benefits as per my sig. Go for it but hassle the DN/Dr about folate.Yeah good point. I am sure the nurse will phone at some point to discuss. I’m really happy with that. I was skeptical to be honest when I read on here about low carb, and I’m certainly not very low carb but I’m a convert now.
just another 20kg to go... it’s a lot but it’s possible, I’ve already lost 13.5 since my heaviest
Excellent result, well done! The supplements you'll have to discuss with your GP though, sorry. But hey.... You're doing an amazing job.Reading 07 Feb: 78

I really miss some of the carb-laden foods but I tried a pancake with almond flour and almond milk and apart from it not holding together as well as “real” pancakes they tasted nice. I think if I can find enough sweet things to keep me going I will be able to stick to itYou'll do it. At my peak I was 100 kgs now 73/74 ish and have been 74-75 for 3 years. I am sure at some point I will have a bad day, and have a pizza or something but if I can keep up with trying my best and make it exceptional, it will work
my peak was 108kg. So the direction is the right way, my aim is similar to your weight. Just slowly and steadily so my body can adjust
so the fact you have done it helps for sure for me to know it’s achievable
I’ll look into more eggs, good idea! I wasn’t sure if the almond milk was the causeIf your pancake is falling apart add more eggs.
'Fat head' pizza is low carb.
I find low carb eating works really well to control type two. Although my BG levels are low after eating my Hba1c sticks at the top end of normal. I think something else might be broken, but so far it doesn't show up as anything other than that anomaly.
Thank you!Andydragon,
I just had the the time to translate the the numbers ...... way to go!!!! You are moving in the the correct direction. You are concentrating on the right things weight and your blood sugars. What worked for me I concentrated on my numbers and weight and good things happened. Just keep it up

People comments on how good look after weight loss and only fitting into clothes you last wore when u wee 20 somthing is best feeling I am i am 40 somthing now..lower carb diet and exercise seems to workThank you!
I’m continuing to work on it and it’s becoming habit now, which is the point. Not perfect and I do have the occasional treat but am managing to make it occasional which is good for me
I can now physically see the impact on my waistline and that’s really a good push to keep going with it
Medical records say 6 feet 183 cms but now probably 5.11 - 180 to 181 cms -How tall r u

Hi there - that's interesting - I am the opposite - I have always had DP (around 3 years) and don't think I have ever had under 5 on wakening up, in fact very rarely 5s, at the moment 6s and a few 9s over the years, before meals I never go that low and 2 hours after I usually don't go above 8 - weird eh - as I am in remission with last 2 Hbalcs 39 & 37. I have mentioned this to my DN but she said not to worry as long as the hbalc are fine that's fine. Weird we are all different but with the same thing. If your pancake is falling apart add more eggs.

Yeah... it’s all for the good. I did have a wobble yesterday after I smacked myself in the face when I got light headed and hit the banister. Neck is still hurting today, I felt sorry for myself and I had a takeaway pizza so shattered my carbs. But never mind, it’s a one off and I did some guilt exercise bike. So probably no lasting side effectsAndy,
Covid was the primary reason why I started watch my numbers like a hawk and started to exercise and lose weight in earnest. So you are not the only one !!!!! You did what you had to do.
