LCHF amazing book

This is the same guy who is the author behind the diet doc website. He is awesome and a thoroughly nice man!

The book just makes so much sense

I'm sure it is I'm only starting it today. How many carbs a day do you eat

No idea! That's the beauty of this diet! I don't carb count! Don't eat any starchy ones at all so only from green veggies and nuts! And you?

Not that sure today I had this

Breakfast 3 slices streaky bacon 2 x scrambled egg

Lunch tin of soup low carb

Dinner 2 pork chops 1 high meat sausage with mushrooms in butter and cream sauce

How's that sound ??

Perfect.
Scrambled egg and smoked salmon
Roast dinner
Christmas cake and 2 chocs (bad- treat as Christmas)
Posted my link for choc mug cake, fruit flan and ice cream on your other thread.

So if I ate like that everyday I could afford a bit of normal flavoured yogurt on the night ?

I'd add some fresh, non-starch veg to that.

Shop for some veg at the store and make a salad for lunch. Whatever tickles your fancy. Avoid spuds, carrots, and other root veg. Broccoli, asparagus and cauliflower are good too with dinner.

I am ok with carrots . Test a few. Swede / turnip is ok too, and I'm ok with beetroot. You have to try a portion and then test and see what suits you as we are all different.

You may find the reason your ok with these foods is cause they have Low Glycemic Load, so have only a small impact on blood sugar levels, if any.

Welcome to the wonderful world of LCHF :D

But I suggest you add the veg, and don't overload on the protein... Best if you eat normal amounts not high protein.

Within days you will fall in love with beautiful, fresh veg in a way you could never imagine. Once your taste buds aren't clogged up with carbs and sugar you will rediscover so many flavours!

Okay, I've just ordered this off Amazon on the above recommendations. Looking forward to a good read :)

My son, bless him, gave me the Diabetes UK cookbook for Christmas, there's a few recipes that happen to be low carb, so I shall make them and tell him how wonderful they are, but potatoes, pasta, rice & flour feature quite heavily.

Bizzare isn't it. My diabetic nurse tells me bread and potatoes pasta etc are fine so I spent the last year eating them as I please. Shocked to find out tho that my hba1c is now 42mmol
