It's been a while since I've checked the forum and wanted to update everyone about what has been happening lately in my life.
Since starting LCHF two weeks ago (1st August), I've been having more and more undisturbed nights of sleep (but I still get up at 6am) and feeling refreshed afterwards. Also I feel like I am high on energy drinks when having no carbs. I have only lost a 3 pounds since the start, but still have high hopes and my family has started to take me seriously as well, with having small portions and buying nuts and crackers instead of sweets and crisps. My blood sugars have been between 3.5 and 6, so I then decided to only take metformin after my doctor in derby said that I do not need the gliclazide and also that he wants me to start on Victoza just to add a further benefit for losing weight.
I also found the LCHF 7 day diet plan to be extremely helpful and I have even now got my parents to start having breakfast, with my dad having granola and my mum having porridge. I have also started a weight loss goal to lose 2 stone by Christmas, which is a lot more achievable than what my parents want me to lose as they want me to get under 20 stone and I'm currently just under 24 stone. I have set myself up with a gym membership near my halls of residence to the use gym facilities and the swimming pool.
I have an appointment next week with my doctor in stoke and I'm going to tell her that LCHF works, show her my blood sugar levels since 1st August, show her the site dietdoctor.com and maybe she will accept that LCHF does work.
