Saw GP today! Summary of visit: Hb1Ac 137 down to 47 in 5 months, thyroxine needs reducing by 25 mgs having been told it was too low 3 months ago but cholesterol a bit high but is probably thyroid related so will leave for 3 months! Thyroid accounts for pins and needles, heat intolerance and sleep issues!?!? Ibhopevhe is right! Apparently despite testing everyday which is how I have reduced BG's I no longer need to test!!! There followed a few choice words and I suggested that if there was more support from GP's, testing encouraged the long term cost to the NHS would be substantially reduced and therefore more cost effective. So, even with a very positive result there was no encouragement. The thyroid situation is just a nightmare I don't think they have a clue. Has anybody else experienced a problem with thyroid levels & diabetes? Very confused and very disillusioned! Any advice or experiences to share!?
