Let's make our voices heard!!

I think it's a good idea too and if by the way it's catching on here is anything to go by, it's going to have more pages than the Bible.:)

Hehe I like it!! I m wondering maybe a new thread or an email address for people to put there stories on. Maybe we can say no more than 1,000 words or is that to restrictive? What do people think?

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here as I think it's worth doing. While I applaud efforts like this, and the enthusiasm here is amazing, there are quite a few books out there written by diabetics that try to explain it. A quick Amazon search reveals that here are a lot of books written by a lot of people in a lot of ways. If you are producing something new in this market place, you need to have something that others don't.

I think it's worth reviewing these publications before committing to what it is that you intend to do.

While the forum has a lot of members, would the outlay of producing it, even electronically, generate sufficient funds to cover the costs before returning something for research, or the end cause?

Do you/we have a general theme? I would imagine that there is a lot of stories on this very forum although copyright might be an issue if diabetes.co.uk wanted to be funny about it. Hopefully not an issue, just something to be aware of.

Good points everyone is making.

My reaction is yes let's explore a theme we like. Any immediate suggestions?

Continuing the title brainstorming:
- The Download on Diabetes
- Diabetes Dialogues

Also, it can work well to have a short catchy title, followed by a subtitle that gives a bit more info.

Food for thought!

All really good points. Hmm the theme well would it be fair to say we want people to experience the nitty gritty of diabete from diabetic prospect? I've had a look at books there are quite a lot for kids and a few one person stories but not a collective of different types ages backgrounds etc maybe that could make this one unique?

Title wise I'll admit I always get stuck doing this. I usually do t all then make a title to match what's created. I wonder if that worth doing and focus on the theme? Or am I well off?

I also wonder

Peeps I've served some time as an editor for a little Dublin publishing house which specialises in indie projects (although poetry not factual).

If there's anything I can do if this becomes a "goer" let me know

I think diabetes dialogues is a good title, especially if this will be a book of multiple stories x
