Does anyone have any idea as to what might be causing these problems. The following are Novo pens?

My blue Levemir insulin pen seems to have lost its mojo.
First of all I was changing the cartridge and the pen would not click shut as it usually does.
Also, it took many losses of 2 units before it sprayed my carpet.
I’ve examined the cartridge, thinking it might somehow not have been put in right, or not fitted correctly, but neither of those issues seems to be the cause of these sudden peculiarities.
The bar codes on the old and the new cartridge do not tally-- but even having put in the old cartridge again, still many, many spurts of Levemir before any evidence of it working, in fact most recent attempt issued nothing at all!
I'm thinking maybe the little spring in the Levemir pen has packed up?

Pens do break/wear out which is why we are advised to have spares.
Why don't you try the cartridge in your spare pen?

Hmmm, my thought is your needle?
To explain, the end that penetrates the rubber membrane on the cartridge isn't & possibly loose in the plastic screw on pushing up extending the needle length a little? No insulin is getting down the sharpened pipe which is your needle..

Thanx @EllieM , saved me a search..

Thank you for your response!
Well I never did get to the bottom of what went wrong, but it seems to have rectified itself now, and is working fine!
It was a mystery!

Excellent news, even if it is a mystery.
