Morning, have been looking at posts on Levemir and hope I may get some advice. Been diagnosed 21 years, and currently using Levemir and Novorapid. I am well controlled and my HbA1C has always been around 7 though in Nov was 7.6 and last week 7.8 so trying to get it down. I have split my Levemir since 2007 and have 28 units when I go to bed and 14 when I get up. I have never really thought about the fact that they are not 12 hours apart, nor are 50:50. My levels throughout the day are generally good but seem to be creeping up to 11 in the evenings. I also find myself having much more Novorapid for my evening meal, even though I probably only have slightly more carbs. So, having discussed this with my DSN, it was suggested I move my Levemir to 12 hours apart. So I did 7pm and 7am and then found my morning levels sky high. So, would I be right to think if I am fine during the day, my night time Levemir is fine, but I should increase my morning dose as I assume by only having 14, it's running out come the evening. This seems logical, but was never explained to me. I do find my levels mid morning are verging on being a bit too low, so maybe I should move my morning one to say 10am? I think I am piling my Levemir into a shortened period and don't have enough of it in the evening, but not sure whether I should increase the day dose or move it, or maybe both? Thanks for reading.
