Hello guys and gals. From this day I am having to step down as a Mod - my term of office has expired. I will still be around and certainly will be keeping my eyes on this thread. It was an achievement to get this and it will only be by greater use that we will ever get to have our own sub-forum.

Love to you all

Doug

I have asked for the thread to be moved from General Chat to Diabetes Discussions so that it appears in the Recent Posts section which apparently it won't when it is in the general chat section. Hope that's ok with everyone.

Thanks for your comment. We have a number of LGBT people on the Forum and its so good when people feel able to be open about that here. A good sense of community, as is given to other groups within the overall community of people living with Diabetes, can help us.

We have a federal plebiscite in Australia shortly to vote Yes or No on same sex marriage, as I am a firm believer on equality I will be voting yes.

The cartoon shows what a waste of money it will be.

A rainbow Australia looks great. Let’s hope it stays that way! I have always viewed Australia as a welcoming place. It needs to be that for all its people.

I can't even begin to imagine why dealing with diabetes should be any different depending on one's sexuality.

I read the whole of this thread hoping it would offer some insight. Disappointingly, it has not.

Which is not to say that I think that the thread is a bad idea, it is not, but it does not appear to have caught on
