Libre 2 sensor

Hi all
I’m new to the site and have a question regarding the Libre 2 sensor which I have just been offered. I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere. Can you use the reader and the phone app at the same time or is it one device (reader or app) per a sensor. I can’t find it but I’m sure I read that once you activate the sensor with either the reader or app, or stuck with that device until you change the sensor and choose which device you want to activate it with again.

Sorry if I have posted it in the wrong place or if it has been answered, as I said I’m new to the site.

You can use both with a single sensor but …
The alerts only come from the device you started it with.
This is because the Bluetooth transmitter on the sensor can only pair with one device.
I imagine this limitation is in place to save both money and space on the sensor.

If you want to use the reader with Libre 1, you must start the sensor with the reader. I am not sure if this is the case with Libre 2.

Just to confirm that you don’t need a reader with the Libre 2. I have used a couple of libres with just my iPhone X

With the libre2, if you start the sensor with the reader, you can scan with both reader and phone, but you will only get alarms sent to the reader.

But if you start the sensor with your phone, you can NOT use the reader with this sensor at all.

Confusing isn't it. I would recommend using your phone if it's a suitable one as I see no advantage in using the Reader
I always pair with the sensor first because I have had problems with my iPhone not reading the sensor sometimes. Also what if you lose your phone!!

Anther libre 2 query. I am finding that I have to scan my sensor twice now to get a reading on my iPhone. I also notice on the graph that there are breaks when the connectivity seems to be broken. It happens with all sensors so more likely to be a problem with my phone. Anyone else had this?
