This error Friday 14th July on Freestyle Libre 2-
‘Blank Screen of Death’

Fix :-

Ok just fixed the problem on my iPhone.

1. Remove the app on your phone by holding finger over the Libre icon and then ‘x’ to delete..

2. Reinstall Libre View from purchased apps in App finder. To do this press your profile pic or initials, in the top right of App Store

3. Select Libre View from drop down and reinstall- you will have to enter your account details, or get a password sent if forgotten.

4. Scan existing or new Sensor

I’m having the same issue - I’ve been on hold with libre for over an hour. There’s no 24 he support. I’ve raised a yellow flag with the MHRA too. I will try the removal step and see

My fix above works !

I have finally got through to abbot - there is an issue with the app they have confirmed. They have taken it down and don’t know when it will be back up and running so you won’t be able to re-ad the app as it’s not present in the App Store.
There has been no proactive communication or updates on their website, this contravenes medical device regulations as far as I’m aware. I have raised a complaint case #59233870. I have been told there is nothing else hey can do. Apparently the abbot scanner will still work (if you have one / have linked the sensor to it before linking your phone) but I have not tried this yet. They are sending me a new sensor & scanner, but no idea when these will arrive. Back up finger prick testing in the meantime. At the bare minimum they should have sent out an email / notification of this issue - we shouldn’t be relying on forums for this information - I am absolutely livid. There should also be a 24hr phone line as a minimum. Why have the MHRA allowed such a poor set up.

Yea they’ve taken it down - but the file still exists in your App Purchases - so can be reinstalled from there - Try it - I’ve just done it and it’s fine !

I think that only works if you removed it from you Home Screen rather than a complete delete - I deleted it so I can’t get it back as it’s not in app finder.

Hi
I can’t seem to get my app to work even after doing this all I get is still a blank screen

The purchased Libre app cannot link to App Store.
So definitely shut down! Where is the explanation by Libre ??!! Bad support, waiting for 40 minutes so far to get through on phone

Many thanks for this site, it’s often the only help re diabetes problems..My app gave up when I updated it as requested. Completely baffled and panicked until I came here to find out what was the problem. All sorted now thanks to the above information from knowledgable members.

Yayyy the fix worked!!
Technology!!!
So missed not having the app for the day, in the end put a new sensor on and started the reader. Once that was in place I then risked deleting the app and reinstalling and it worked. And the app then read the new sensor on my arm and turns out the reader still works with it too!!

I have been having the same problem since March. First the App stopped working on my iphone 8/App - and no amount of offloading, deleting, re-downloading would solve the problem. So switched to handheld scanner. All ok for three months until scanner data upload ceased to appear on the LibreView web site. Re-downloaded the Device over and over - nothing. And now I cannot get onto the web site at all. After home page and UK selected, page is blank. I am using an Apple MAC PRO 2013
It may well be that since they have made updates, it may no longer support operating systems when they hit 10 years old. Looks like it's going to cost me circa £1,500 to resolve with new laptop (even though mine works for everything else) and upgrade from iphone 8 to 10 or 12 - it's a sharp practice IMHO of tech firms to declare perfectly useable hardware obsolete after 10 years by dis-enabling the software. Should be a banned practice.

you need to update to version 2.10.1 on iOS as I had the same problem and got in touch with Libre straight away and told them and the next day this update came out

Update what - phone software (it's latest version) or MacBookPro ......my laptop is 10 years old and I am advised that Apple no longer update OS when the perfectly usable hardware reaches 10 year life of software. If there was anyway I could update to version 2.10.1 , I would be most grateful of any advice and a link to download it ..........
