I'm glad for others, but personally find the Libre too difficult to use. Just me I know. However, shouldn't they have sorted the glue and/or fixing issues before marketing it and stressing out their consumers?

As with a lot of products different glyes and dressings affect different people.
Ie on 1st mastectomy I was stitched and glued and ok. 2nd one byna different surgeon I was stitched and dressed... allergic to dressing, yet ok with cgm sticky stuff.
And fine with libre glue too. However I always wore a tubigrip over it.
If the majority have no problem they cannot change for the minority.
I'm the minority for lots of things like being intolerant to pump cannulas.. majority of users are ok, I'm not so got to use some other method..
Yes, you're right. I got too irritated with trying Libre, but I know lots of people get on well with it, and all power to them.
That's not quite how pricing works. In the past it worked that way, but pricing is now referred through the NHS BSA. In this case, the NHS BSA has set the price with Abbott at £35 and that is the price it will go on the Drug Tariff at. The approach that's been taken is different from that previously used. Its down to every CCG to buy as they think and to set their own budgets to purchase etc.. its not a National Health Service... its a postcode lottery depending upon which CCG you live in, not even the hospital that you go to.
At this stage, with no CCG guidance in place, we've no way of answering that one.Without knowing my CCGs guidelines etc and completely in theory do you think it would help my case to getting a Libre on the NHS if I trial one first before November to show how much I would benefit?
Just spoken to my Diabetic Specialist Nurse for my area and she went and checked with her higher powers. Libre will NOT be available in Scotland, apparently this announcement relates to England only.
The original link on the thread states 'across the United Kingdom'Thought it was the whole of the UK?

Why do people still seem to think that blood testing before driving is a legal requirement. It is not, it is only advisory, sensible advice of course but it is not a legal requirement.Great news.
Many people seem to think flashing the Libre is just a replacement for finger pricking. Not only is there the issue of needing finger pricks for driving, there is also the additional information that is available from the Libre like trend arrows and graphs of the last 8 hours (which can add up to 24x7 if you scan often enough).
I hope there will be training on how to get the most out of the Libre rather than just handing them out and just assuming ot can be used in exactly the same way as a finger prick. That would be such a waste of money.
