Been itchiting like mad for a few days now. 10days old decided it had to come off. Horrible mess, bruising and infection.
First such problem in 2 years.
Guess it hit something my body didn't like.
I'm not too worried, squeezed as much as I can, cleaned up etc. Needle still intact after removal.
Have others had anything similar?

Just reading from another site. I will need to keep a close eye on it and quite possibly need antibiotics

I've had a similar experience a few years back where my Libre insertion site got infected. The sensor had to come off early as the area became very itchy and a bit painful + Libre readings were quite a bit off compared to finger-prick test. I've been making sure I meticulously clean the site with injection wipes before I place the sensor - Abbot used to provide these with the sensor, but then stopped.

Yes it's a bit annoying. Of course you can buy your own, but it's just something else to think of. Whereas, if it's in the libre box there ready waiting for you, so much easier for what must cost a few pence.

Sounds horrible, glad you contacted 111 and got hold of some antibiotics.

Out of interest do you swab the area with an alcohol wipe (that they no longer provide but I have a pack of which I bought on Amazon) before attaching it?

I didn't swab. Tbh, I stopped when abbot stopped including them.
I always try to fit after my shower /bath etc.
Perhaps I will look on amazon and get swabs. I don't want this mess again.
Why on earth did Abbott stop including it. Do the other competitors supply?
Not that I'd change.
Libre works for me.
Well most of the time
