I have a Libre2 plus at the moment and keep getting the "signal loss" message. The phone will scan the sensor successfully via NFC, but will often show a "signal loss" message the next time it tries to update the reading. The app will sometimes work for a while if I toggle the Bluetooth off and on again, force stop the LibreLink app, and restart the app or the phone. The phone is close to the sensor.

My phone was repaired recently, and had a factory reset, and was updated to Android 16. I feel that it could be a problem with the Android version, as my smart scale Withings app no longer receives the readings from the scale as it used to before the phone was reset and the OS was updated. The last time I used the Libre2 plus without issues was a few months ago, before the OS upgrade.

I just wondered if anyone knows of any issues with Android 16, or if they can suggest anything I can do to address the problems I'm having.

Hi Ian,

I've got a Google Pixel 8 with Android 16 on it. It connected to the Libre2 plus (trial version) fine and didn't lose comminucation at all.

There are a few things to check though as Android can be a bit fiddly.

Have you made sure that the Libre Link app has the "allow background usage" turned on. On my phone, you go to APP BATTERY USAGE, select Libre Link and the on/off for background use is there.

Hi,

Two things I can think of is.
Is your app updated?
Have you looked at clearing the "bluetooth cache?"

Thanks Peter. "Allow background usage" was already enabled. I don't actually need the Libre2, but I've paid for it and I'd like it work properly.

Hi Jaylee. I'd recently reset the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings, and the LibreLink app is up-to-date.

I’m not on Android, I’m an iPhone girl, but I’ve had the odd sensor do this. I just phoned Abbott and they sent a replacement and provided packaging to send the dodgy one back.

I rang Abbott and they said their technical team was working on an update for Android 16, and are sending me a new sensor and a reader (both for free). So I'll use the reader until they update their app, I suppose.
