Librelink on iPhone - NFC working ??

I'll be provided with a Libre CGM soon and can see that the Librelink app could be useful. However from what I've been reading on the web Apple have turned off NFC on the iPhone apart from use with Apple Pay.
Can anyone confirm that an iPhone works using NFC with Librelink?

You need an iPhone 7 or higher and it will work. The older ones are artificially stunted by iOS to only allow Apple Pay usage.

Thanks @db89! Just my luck - I bought an iPhone 6S Plus just 6 months ago! Guess I'll just have to fall back on my Android phone.
