My son is going to Amsterdam this year, it's the first time he's flown since becoming diabetic. Will he need to take a doctors letter or anything else to prove he's a diabetic to the airport with him?
The general consensus is if he can get a letter for free, get one. If not, a copy of prescription. I take both but have never been asked to produce either on numerous flights. Howevers, sod's law dictates the day I travel without them, I will get asked
I would get one done but ask his consultant or dsn for a letter as some gp surgeries charge. Taking a copy of the repeat prescription is sensible advice, the reason being if any of his diabetes supplies were lost or stolen he has a copy of all the items he needs, he could then present this to a Dr or pharmacy to purchase them.
