Thanks for posting this. I would always refuse statins but have been pressurised to take warfarin again. I don't intend to do so and this article has given me some ammunition to back up my own reasoning. This one could be interesting for everyone... especially the statement that
"recent pharmacological/biochemical studies, as summarized in this review and elsewhere, have revealed that atherosclerosis is caused by statins taken to lower LDL-C, as well as by warfarin and some types of vegetable fats and oils,"

Ok show me up for being slow Daf ... sorry @Indy51 I failed at my own pet hate of not reading all the thread before posting...

Thanks for the info. My GP wants me to take an anti-coagulant 'just in case' my atrial fibrillation comes back again. It has come back again a few times and I have found that a dose or 2 of magnesium is all it takes for me to put it back into sinus rhythm again. I am making a note of the info you have given in case I need it in the future. Interestingly, this is the GP who removed a non malignant lump from my side a couple of years ago. I asked him not to use the anaesthetic with adrenalin in, because I know that adrenalin sends my heart into AFib. He sneered and send it wouldn't because it was only a small dose. It did! It was the worst Afib episode I have had since my op over 5 years ago. It took me 3 days to get my heart back into proper rhythm again.Hi Zand,
I now take a novel anticoagulant, unlike warfarin and statins they are not vitamin k antagonists and at least one is at present being studied regarding comparison calcification of the arteries with warfarin.
I take 110mg ( the lower dose) Dabigatran twice per day for Afib.
regards
Derek

Thank youYes its the PURE study referenced in the video I posted above.
Did someone say this video has been taken off U tube. If so does anyone kow by whom and why?Thank you for this @bulkbiker very interesting
It's still there, as per @bulkbiker post.Did someone say this video has been taken off U tube. If so does anyone kow by whom and why?
It is still on YouTube, I just checked.Did someone say this video has been taken off U tube. If so does anyone kow by whom and why?
Was it taken off in some sort of disciplinary and then put back? If so by whom and why?
When it was first released there were 3 or 4 versions on youtube which was when I first noticed it. Within 48 hours they had all been removed. It re-appeared a few days later but only from one source and now the one I linked to as the most recent and only version I could find. There was much made of the disappearance at the time but I doubt we will ever know the full story. It may have had something to do with the PURE study not having been published when the video first came out or it may have been for a darker reason. It certainly doesn't help the case for statins..... I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Was it taken off in some sort of disciplinary and then put back? If so by whom and why?

could well be... but I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next man....It takes a lot to have YouTube take down a video but the threat of infringement of copyright will do it every time, litigation dontcha know.
