lipotrim or slimfast?

Personally I would say neither. I believe that Slimfast has a huge amount of sugar in the shakes (I may be wrong). I cant say Ive heard of the other one. But personally I have lost 3 stone in 5 months, with no problems by low carbing. I dont miss shop bought bread, I havent eaten pasta or rice in months, dont miss it although I used to eat pasta quite often. I very occasionally have a roast potato or 2, but not often as I wish to lose more weight. Its all about lifestyle change. I really dont feel like im on a diet. I eat chocolate(74% cocoa) I have eggs and bacon on a regular basis, I cook with Butter.

The forum doesn't advise on which are good or bad diet plans. However, members are free to give you their own opinions and to tell you what has worked for them.
My own personal view (and I emphasise its a personal view) is that I wouldn't go near either of them. Having just looked them up online I see that they are both based on little or no fat but a high amount of carbohydrates. As it is carbs that, as a diabetic, your body struggles to cope with, pumping it full of soluble starch, which appears to be the basis of both diets, would most likely send you blood sugars rocketing. It will also fill you up, but the problem with most starches is that a couple of hours later, you are hungry again.
As Lenny has said, a far simpler way, and a lot cheaper than any of the proprietary slimming brands, is to simply reduce the amount of carbohydrates in your diet. Have a good look round the various forum threads and you will find a great deal of information on what has worked for others.

There is a new shake diet designed specifically for diabetics called "Glucerna" - well, that's what it's called in Australia. I've seen it on the shelves in the local pharmacy.

My experience with Glucerna has not been at all positive - in case anybody else has been thinking of trying "Glucerna SR" which Abbott Nutrition are marketing as "Carbsteady"(R), Low GI, sustained release, "helping people with Diabetes find balance", etc, etc.
I've been having an issue with rising fasting BG and decided to try the stuff - and fair enough, my fasting BG was better - I'd been having mid 6's and it went down under 6.
However, for the first time, I measured my BG an hour after ingesting a shake made up using 30g Glucerna (they recommend making it with 52g).
BG before drinking was 5.9
1 hour later it was 8.8 - a rise of 2.9
So much for low GI, sustained release :shock:

Hi Indy51, I did not manage to find Glucerna for sale on any website in the UK. I asked at my local pharmacy and they have not heard of it. I take Glucerna regularly, am on holiday in London and did not bring enough with me. It will be really good if you can tell me where you bought your supply from. Thank you!

I am a type 1 diabetic and I found VISALUS Body by vi Shake works for me. Designed for diabetics. Only been in the UK a year.
