Little and often

Hi paniboy
I tend to graze through the day don't know if I should but as I'm a truck driver I normally eat on the move .
I don't know if you've had the info for new members so I'll tag @daisy1 in case you haven't yet .
Have a good read and if you have any questions ask .

I have always had three meals a day,and dont snack,because I have never felt the need to.nothing to do with diabetes,Ive always been the same.
 
I eat between 6 to 8 very small meals a day.

I eat when I'm hungry so it varies but generally two to three meals per day. When I grew up we were told not to snack as that spoils the appetite and is bad for the teeth so never got into the snacking habit.
 
Eating the right foods little n often can only lower your blood sugar levels.

I can't do that but I would if I had a desk job.

Doesn't it actually keep your insulin levels elevated for longer (the opposite effect from fasting) [if your body still produces insulin] and is therefore bad for T2D? Not sure.
 
What I should have said is that instead of having one large meal that gives a large spike you eat little and often and have a series of elevated blood sugar levels that hopefully are within acceptable ranges.

Only testing with your meter can confirm this though.

No, not if like me, you are in ketosis and trying to stop spiking to stop hypos!
A controlled diet at normal levels is how you get real good energy and feel healthy.
Eating a very low carb small meal every 2-3 hours is necessary.
 
I have found if u eat protein instead of carbs you feel fuller for longer and sugar levels stay lower.
I have a 2 egg omelette for breakfast most mornings and i have found i am ok til lunch time where as if i have cereal im starving by mid morning.
