Hi guys, my daughter is recently diagnosed and she is only 2. Currently in India but will be back soon. I am very worried about her and her future, lots of reading and it's getting me even worried when somebody mention about a scary hypo. I am more worried because of her age and she is resisting to take shots (pen), she is fine with pricking. I live in Aberdeen and looking to speak with someone from Aberdeen , just to get some hope. Completely stressed.

Hi @satishaksh and welcome to the forum.
I am sure you will get some good advice here as there are experienced Type1s and experienced parents of Type1 children.
Cannot help you with anyone who lives in Aberdeen but I am sure they will come forward.
I have bumped your post up for replies and please do not panic, everyone will try and help you.

Hi @satishaksh :)

I have Type 1. Don't panic - it'll get easier, I promise. I'm going to tag @1Sarah1 for you as she has a child of a similar age who has recently been diagnosed.

Remember that the chances of their being a cure in your daughter's lifetime are very high. Things have progressed so much over the last few years :)

In the meantime, learn as much as you can about diabetes - gradually, as you feel able. Ask lots of questions and there'll be people to help :)

hi there @satishaksh
it is a huge shock to get a diagnosis of Diabetes for your little princess :(.

your daughter is so young she will soon get used to the routine like a duck to water.
and as @azure says the advancement in science is amazing these days.

try to take things 1 day at a time and try not to worry too much ( hard I know )

I am tagging @MH2010 as I think she might be in your part of the world.

all the best !!

Hi guys thanks very much for replies. It's meant lot for newly diagnosed parents to know other people can understand and help. It's a wonderful forum with lots of nice people.

I stay Mannofield, (not far from Cults) Can meet up in town one day if you want to talk. I have been diabetic for 25yrs (since I was 4)

Oh that's perfect , we can meet at union square or somewhere quiet so we can chat , I am free on Thursdays and over weekend . Anytime it's suits you, thanks for your help

Hi Maria, nice taking with you . My name is Satish and little one's name is Akshara . Shall I send my phone number ?

Yeah, if you send me a private message with your number and I will send mine.

Wow... This posting is just heartwarming to read....

So sorry your little princess has T1. Just so heartwarming to read the responses....

Sorry maria can't able to s no you a private message, can you send and I will see if I can reply to that.

I think you have to post/reply a certain amount of times before you can access messages. Not sure how many though.

How long ago was Akshara diagnosed?

Aw, poor thing. Were you in Aberdeen when she was diagnosed?

The adult clinic here is brilliant.

Yes Maria I was here, but went immediately to visit her. She is doing fine now and as parents we both are worried about so things .

Joining this forum was probably the best thing you could have done. There is so much support from people who are in/have been in the same position.
