Liver dump?

I'm Type 2. Usually have good control but recently struggling with raised blood sugars including morning fasting test which is in the 8's/ 9's despite no supper and reduced carbs. Also increased gliclazide dose about 2 weeks ago with no improvement yet. Somewhere on the forum I read about liver dumps but can't find it now. Could this explain what is happening to me? Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks.
 
I don´t think it is liver dump if it is all day long that high... do you count you number of crams of carbs you eat in a day , and if at what level are you are you eating under 100 grams of carbs a day ? maybe you need another regulation of your medications

Thanks for your reply. I think you are probably right having read the link re dawn phenomenon. I don't count my carbs but have been cutting back a lot lately in an effort to reduce my sugar levels. I have been monitoring/ recording my bloods before each meal and at bedtime for 2 weeks at my diabetic nurse's request and am due to go back to her next month so probably will increase/ alter my meds. Ug! Just what I was trying to avoid. Thanks again for your reply.

most when cutting down on carbs still eat far too many grams daily, try to count for a couble of days and find out how little 100 grams daily is in your kind of foods...
 
You need to start testing before meals AND 2 hours after first bite. Only this can tell you if you are on the right track with your eating plan. It is the rise from before to after that is important. If it is above 2mmol/l there are too many carbs in that meal. It preferably should be under 1.5mmol/l.
